First of all, we have Caroline, her meet outfit, and her accessories. (I explained my opinion on Caroline in another blog post.) I can not believe that a doll+book+accessories now costs $124!
Next, we have her table and chairs set, along with her tableware. The table and chairs distinctly remind me of the old ones in Felicity's collection. (Pictured below)
See how similar they look! I am quite fond of both sets actually, though I must say I prefer felicity's. It is more realistic looking and I think has a very classy touch. Suprisingly, Felicity's table and chairs cost $98, and Caroline's set costs $140. If you add in the tableware set for caroline, it totals to $200!!! Wow.
This is Caroline's pet cat, inkpot. I think he is quite cute, however I question the choice of yellow eyes. I think hazel eyes or green eyes would have made him look less halloweeny.
Next, we have Caroline's bed. I think it is very simple and elegant, and I like it. However, I find that the color choice for the blanket is rather dull. Most of Caroline's collection is light blue or pink, and I wonder why american girl chose this light brown color for her bed.
This is Caroline's skiff. As I said in my other Caroline blog post, I think it is quite silly looking. And you know what is the silliest part? It is not suppoused to be placed in water! In the description of this product, American Girl stated that "Please Note: Doll and skiff should not be placed in water." I think this is a really strange choice on american girl's part. I mean, who is going to pay $175 for a plastic boat that cant float? At that point it is pretty much a bench with a sail.
This is Caroline's Holiday Gown. I like the gloves, but aside from that, I am not so sure.... This is just personal opinion, but I just don't think it is pretty.
This is Caroline's Winter coat and skating set. I think the coat and hat are absolutley darling, and the color is magnificent. I plan on purchasing this outfit if I can scrape together $52....
Wow, just look at Caroline's parlor set! It is really extrordinary, and as much as I love it, I can not bring myself to spend $300 for a piece of doll furniture.
This is Caroline's nightgown. In all honesty, I think it looks sort of funky. i dont really like the shape and I think it needs some sort of tightening at the waist.
Caroline's birthday dress is really pretty. But I must say, I am more interested in that fabulous hair-do!
This is Caroline's travel outfit and accessories. Aside from the whopping and utterly ridiculous price, I think it is very cute. She reminds me of a fairytale charecter, and I absolutley adore the hat and jacket.
Overall, I think Caroline has a sweet little collection. However, I disagree with some choices american girl has made. If I were to remake the collection, I would do it differently. What do you guys think? Comment below or take this poll to share your opinion!
New My American Girl products
First of all, we have the dreamy nightstand set. It is very cute, and I would definetly buy it... if it was'nt $58!!! Thats like, the price of a human sized nightstand!
This is the casual chic outfit. I think it is cute, but not my style. I don't like the colors so much.
This is the winter fun outfit (maybe I said that wrong?) And I think it is cute. I don't particularly like it and I think it is horrendously overpriced, but it is still cute.
This is the puffball snowflake outfit (as we call it here at basilmentos productions) and I think it is very cute. However, the earmuffs on their own cost $10! If you really want doll sized earmuffs, hot glue pom-poms to a headband or pipe cleaner. Oh, and another thing. This outfit could be rather impractical. I mean, your doll would get lost in a snowstorm! ;)
This is the "winter chalet". I think it is one of the worst products AG has ever made. I can make one out of a cardboard box (tutorial coming this weekend) and yet they are charging $150 for it. It seats ONE DOLL, and she can not even lie down because there is not enough floor space. In doll world, this "winter chalet" is about the size of a bathtub. While it looks cute, it is completley usless to me, as only one doll can fit inside, and she can not even lie down.
This is the adorable snowboard outfit and accessories. It is so cute and realistic, and I love it. However, I already have a snowboard (though I do not have an outfit) so I probably will not be buying this product.
This is the 2 in 1 skating outfit. I think it is charming and elegant. American girl really gave a classy touch to this outfit. However, I am not actually interested in a skating set, so I will not be purchasing this.
This is the holiday baking set, and I think it is RIDICULOUS. I can sew a red apron in 10 minutes and I can buy a mini santa hat for .99 cents at the walmart. I can use clay to make a gingerbread house for my dolls. (And have lots of fun doing it!) yet american girl is charging $58 for this little set. If you ask me, it should be $18. (even though it probably only worth a dollar of fabric and plastic)
This is the purple holiday dress. I think it is very cute and refreshing, considering AG's holiday dresses have been red for the past few years.
This is the red holiday dress. I love the gathering at the top. However, I must say I am a bit tired of AG's red holiday dresses. I know they are classics, but I think I prefer the purple one.
This is the holiday accessory set. I guess it is fine, but for $32, all you are really getting is a plastic nutcracker toy, a little cropped jacket, a pretend braclet and two little peices of paper. I like the jacket a lot, but other than that, I think this set is kind of a dud.
Lastly we have the reindeer PJ's. I LOVE the pj bottoms and top, and I want them desperatley. But the ears?? I mean, what the heck?! They are hilarious, and seemingly pointless, but I actually think they would be a nice accessory to have around. My dolls would'nt neccessarily wear them with the PJ's, but they could wear them with halloween costumes or on christmas. What do you guys think? Comment below and share your opinion!
